MACERICH'S "GIVE" SITE IS RECOGNIZED AS ADOBE'S SITE OF THE DAY
AUSTIN, TX (December 19, 2008) – Out of thousands of entries, the Drumroll-designed Macerich “GIVE” site was recognized today as Adobe's Site of the Day. Adobe recognizes Web site experiences that exhibit exceptional creativity, strong visual design, superior functionality and innovative uses of Adobe products. Winners of the Adobe Site of the Day are selected by a panel of Adobe and Macromedia professionals and featured in Adobe’s Customer Showcase.
As a key component in the launch of the new gift card program entitled “GIVE,” Macerich teamed with Drumroll to redefine the online gift card giving experience. Through a collaborative process with Macerich, Drumroll’s teams crafted an insightful strategy and unique engagement approach that resulted in an industry-leading Web site experience. Features include a unique expanding Flash-based home page, a data-driven interactive map to aid visitors in finding the nearest Macerich center, online card purchase integration, and a special section dedicated to the GIVE GREEN card, which includes a donation to the American Forest organization for every green card purchase.
“Based on our research of the REIT [Retail Investment Trust ] industry and the broader gift card market, we saw a strategic opportunity to lift the emotional, visual and functional experience associated with purchasing and receiving gift cards through the Web,” said Kirk Drummond, cofounder and CEO of Drumroll. “Buying gift cards does not usually invoke a water cooler moment.
