Drumroll Brands Rising Organizations, Wins Three W3 Awards

AUSTIN, Texas — October 8, 2008 — The International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) honored Drumroll with three W3 Awards today for the agency’s work with Penton Media and Simple Power.

Recognizing outstanding Web sites, Web marketing and Web video worldwide, the W³ is the first major Web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms and everyone in between.

Drumroll was awarded Gold for Penton Media’s Marketing Connections (MCONN) conference integrated campaign including, e-mail, digital advertising and Web site, www.mconn2009.com, and Silver for the event’s Web site. A newly created conference, Penton sought Drumroll to develop the MCONN brand, formulate strategies to inspire and connect with its C-level marketing audience as well as help name the conference.

“MCONN is a conference designed to educate marketers on how to leverage today’s myriad of marketing opportunities and platforms,” said Kirk Drummond, Drumroll cofounder and CEO. “Given Drumroll’s focus on guiding brands through the increasingly complex modern marketing landscape, we were able to provide firsthand perspectives and insights in how to position the new conference concept with a high standard of strategic value, relevance and presentation.”

Drumroll’s Web site for Simple Power, www.simplepower.net, was also awarded Gold. In an increasingly crowded market, Texas energy newcomer Simple Power needed to standout from its competitors. To do so, Drumroll guided the company’s tone and personality as the “Anti-Energy” company that values its customer relationships, providing a welcome option in the normally sterile energy market.

“Drumroll’s strategic guidance in the creation of our brand and customer-facing marketing materials, including our corporate Web site, continues to have a direct influence on our company’s success,” said Mike Elhaj, Simple Power CMO. “It’s an honor to be recognized by IAVA and share this award with Drumroll.”

Entries are judged and scored on a 10-point scale based on a standard of excellence as determined by the IAVA. Less than 10 percent of entries were selected as Gold winners. For a complete list of W3 Award winners, visit www.w3award.com.
